Planning your wedding at Bedford Registry Office, The Old Town Hall? It’s the perfect choice for a relaxed, intimate ceremony right in the heart of Bedford town centre — ideal for smaller midweek weddings or larger ceremonies with up to 75 guests.

Just a stone’s throw from the River Ouse and Bedford’s beautiful Embankment, it offers some of the best local spots for natural, relaxed wedding photography. Having photographed many weddings here over the years, I know all the best locations — from the Town Bridge to the Embankment, and even the newer bridge nearby — perfect for a short walk and some lovely photos after your ceremony.

One of the biggest advantages of The Old Town Hall is its location. With venues like The Swan Hotel, The Embankment Hotel, and the Mercure Hotel all within walking distance, you can easily keep your whole wedding day in one area. Whether you’re heading for a riverside wedding breakfast or a private function room, everything is close by and convenient for you and your guests.

I’ve photographed couples of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds here over the years — and every wedding is unique. The Embankment always provides a stunning backdrop, whatever the season, making it one of my favourite places in Bedford for wedding photos.

Many couples choose nearby venues like The Swan Hotel for bridal preparations. Some arrive by car, while others walk to the ceremony with their bridal party — which is always such a lovely moment to capture. After the ceremony, we often take a relaxed walk along the Embankment for natural, storytelling photos. The Embankment is one of my favourite spots in Bedford in every season — the perfect backdrop for timeless wedding photos.
